ZISCO Security Guard Commits Suicide

A 65 year old security guard manning the ZISCO Steel company premises reportedly died after jumping from the top of the building at the company in a suspected suicide case.

According to some sources, Micheal Mangachena allegedly jumped from the top of ZISCO Steel company building and died on the spot.

Zimbabwe Republic Police Spokesperson Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko confirmed the suspected suicide incident.

“Police confirms investigating a suspected suicide case involving a 65-year-old man who is believed to have jumped from the top of a building in Redcliff, Kwekwe.

“On 27 January 2023 at around 1630 hours, Michael Mangachena of Torwood in Redcliff commenced his security guard duties at ZISCO Steel Company.

“He conducted security checks at the premises at around 1637 hours. It is alleged that Michael Mangachena climbed on top of a building and jumped to the ground,” said Inspector Mahoko.

Mangachena reportedly sustained severe head and leg injuries that resulted in his death on the spot.

The police ferried his body to Kwekwe General Hospital mortuary.

The police have urged members of the public to seek counselling whenever they are facing some personal problems.

“We urge members of the public to always seek counselling instead of taking their own lives,” said Inspector Mahoko.
