One in every five teenage girls falls pregnant in Zimbabwe. 70 000 of them undergo unsafe abortions or face some pregnancy complications every year. Over 59 000 drop out of school annually. These statistics by the World Health Organisation show that teenagers in Zimbabwe are sexually active. Policy, communities and parents may need to accept this and adjust to this reality.
