United States Sends Presidential Delegation to Hichilema’s Inauguration

United States President Joseph R Biden Jnr, yesterday 21 August 2021 announced a Presidential delegation to attend the inauguration of Zambian President-elect His Excellency Hakainde Hichilema.

The inauguration will be held on the 24th of August 2021 in Zambia’s capital Lusaka.

The  Acting Director of the United States Trade and Development Agency Ms. Enoh T. Ebong will lead the Presidential delegation.

Mr. David J. Young, Chargé d’Affaires, ad interim at the U.S Embassy in Lusaka and Ms. Dana L. Banks, Special Assistant to the President and Senior Director for Africa will also be part of the delegation.

Hichilema was secured his Presidential election win after scoring 2,810,777 votes against the incumbent Edgar Lungu’s 1,814,201.

Hichilema (59) faces a huge task of turning the fortunes of the economy that was left in shambles by his predecessor.
