Three men and a woman were caught red-handed slaughtering a stolen cow in the darkness of the night at a farming plot in Lalapanzi.
On January 26, exactly four days ago, Impact Stories Zimbabwe reported the gruesome slaughter of cattle by suspected cattle rustlers at another plot in Lalapanzi.
A gang of four suspects have been caught red-handed with stolen cattle whilst slaughtering another, fast on the heels of a related cattle slaughter incident in the same community.
The four suspects Muruvi Murivi (56), Evelyn Magona, Godknows Dube (27) of Hillview 1 Lalapanzi and Amon Mpofu (68) of village 4 Makuti were nabbed on Saturday where they had stolen cattle from Plot 29 Hillview 1 in Lalapanzi.

confirmed the development.
“Zimbabwe Republic Police confirms the arrest of four suspects connected to stock theft cases in the Lalapanzi area. They were arrested during the night on 28 January 2023,” said Inspector Mahoko.
Circumstances surrounding the incident are that Saturday around 2200 hours, Jonathan Phiri (62) of Hillview 1 in Lalapanzi was at his homestead when he heard some noises of people slaughtering a beast coming from Muruvi‘s kraal.
He teamed up with his colleague and proceeded to MURUVI’s homestead. Upon arrival, they saw the four suspects slaughtering a beast and alerted the police.
Acting on the information, the police swiftly reacted to the scene and arrested the four suspects.
Five live beasts stolen from one Mr Hwacha were recovered at the scene.
The police have applauded members of the public for their support.
“Once again police would like to applaud members of the public who support the police with positive information which assists in crime investigation, ” said Inspector Mahoko.
