By Wallace Mawire

Zimtrade, Zimbabwe’s national trade development and export promotion agency, has launched the 2025 Eagles Nest Agri-Challenge, calling on young innovators and entrepreneurs to submit agricultural solutions with growth potential.

The initiative aims to identify, nurture, and reward innovative agribusinesses that align with national goals such as job creation, sustainable farming, food security, and technological advancement in agriculture.

Open to applicants aged 18–35, the program seeks ideas across horticulture, agri-tech, agri-fintech, agro-processing, agricultural inputs, and related sectors.

Successful applicants will gain access to export development support to scale their solutions, mentorship and training from industry experts, networking opportunities including participation in a business-link mission to the Netherlands.

The challenge targets early-stage entrepreneurs and startups with clear, innovative concepts or existing projects in agriculture with potential to strengthen Zimbabwe’s agri-value chains.

Zimtrade emphasized that the initiative is critical for driving economic growth and modernizing the agricultural sector, which remains a cornerstone of the country’s economy.

Submissions close on 1 March 2025.

Interested innovators are urged to seize this opportunity to transform their visions into tangible, market-ready solutions. For more details, innovators may visit Zimtrade’s official channels.
